QWXL 3: Working with Excel®
QWXL 3 offers advanced charting and statistical tools for any Microsoft Excel® user. Once installed, the program is actually launched via a handy toolbar icon right from Excel®.
As such, the program is typically referred to as an Excel® add-in.
Users do not have to select a column, row or range of data, QWXL 3 will use all of the data within the spreadsheet. The data is copied to a QWXL 3 logsheet with references back to the original spreadsheet. In this manner, any future changes in the original Excel® spreadsheet will result in automatic re-calculation of all charts and limits.
Fine Tuning Performance
Although QWXL 3 is very flexible and can be customized, it often helps if the original Excel® spreadsheet is set up properly. Use the folloing tips to maximize performance:
- Use columns to define variables
- Use rows to define records
- Use one row above the data to define variable names
Adding Limits to your Spreadsheet
QWXL 3 will automatically calculate limits (average, specifications, control and warning limits). Limits are useful to analyse your data.
You may wish to define fixed limits and establish targets for each variable. QWXL 3 gives you this option, and it also allows you to save that information to your original spreadsheet.
